Ankylosing Spondylitis

Ankylosing Spondylitis is a disease that affects some Australians, with a 3:1 ratio of males to females being diagnosed.  It results in inflammation, pain and stiffness predominantly in the spine, rarely with peripheral joints affected. It is commonly diagnosed from age 15 to 45 years old, and can be managed allowing your life to continue as planned. Australia Cricketer Michael Slater managed to deal with this situation to be one of Australia’s greatest batsmen.
